I feel like your hatred towards military is extremely generalized.

 

Not every military action is to kill innocents.

People hate taxes becasue they are greedy and don't understand the complexities of the economy.

if no one had one in the first place there wouldnt be radical islam (or at least a whole lot less) Al Qaeda and the Taliban started off as a way for the USA to combat Russia in Afghanistan but once russia was out they evolved into something worse

You have wishful thinking which is nice, but we do not live in that kind of world. A lot of humans are evil. Conflicts will always remain. Sure in a perfect world we would have absolute peace etc etc etc etc. I wish we could live in that dream world. Violence will always happen. Wars will happen.

I really don't know if that is the case. Militaries are not the cause of this unrest. I think what you mean is it would be nice if we did not have corrupt leaders controlling these militaries.

Yeah but think of all those jobs lost. You have to consider the people the join the military for a living.

How has the military helped society? Here are a couple of good things that came from military funding from the top of my head. 

 

1) the first general purpose computer, the ENIAC was developed by the US Army.

 

2) GPS, again largely developed under US department of defense spending.

 

3) Epipens, Developed by US department of defense spending. 

 

4ish) Digital Cameras, Although not a direct product of military funding, the US military saw the potential in the idea and invested heavily in it when it was far out of the reach of every day use. This investment drove much of the further innovation that makes a digital camera as useful as they are today. 

 

I am not a fan of war either, but to say that the military has made no contributions to society is either incredibly ignorant, or down right lying.

You claimed that militaries have not benefited society. I disputed that point with several examples of military backed societal innovation. All of the examples I gave have had a sizable positive impact on society. 

 

Your statement was incorrect. If you have a problem with the size and scope of the US military that is a separate issue.
