It looks like a very good build. There will be people telling you not to get that ssd but they have sorted out the problem now so I don't see a reason why you shouldn't get it.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

Good CPU, good HDD, good PSU, case seems decent.

Good GPU (although the G1 gaming card from Gigabyte has a better reputation, that's possibly because it overclocks very well).

Try taking a look at EVGA's 970 too

What I would change:

Motherboard. For that price you can probably get a good Z97 motherboard for later upgrades, did you get that motherboard because of its colors too?

Don't know about any Z97 board in gold+black.

Otherwise MSI's PC Mate Z97 board is good.

That SSD is also not very. Change it for something like the Crucial MX100 or Samsung 850 EVO :)

"Sorted out", but not completely. Still not a great SSD compared to the competition.

Samsung would be a better choice but they are no longer producing ssd's with the crap switches and if you have one they are giving out new ones.

I would pull the trigger right now.

Even though the v300 doesn't perform like the 850 EVO.

It actually performs rather well at its price point.

So if you want better SSD performance, then yes, you'll need to throw in some more money.

If you want an SSD giving much faster read/writes than an HDD but want to keep it kind of cheap, then go for the v300.

As far as the rest of the build goes there's nothing to point out really.

When in doubt: C4

Switches? Controllers lol

I don't exactly trust the TLC in Samsung's competing EVO either, but I'd still take it over a V300.

I would not run a 970 off the EVGA 500W1. Minimum would be the Bronze version. It might not need the watts but if you're buying a i5+970 you should be getting a better PSU then one intended for builds half the cost.

The z97 would be just for the sli? I dont care that much about the colors

And what PSU would I need to run 2 gtx970?

A good 650w would be enough for sli. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-110b20750vr

It splits the PCIe lanes evenly between the first 2 x16 slots, which is what you need for SLI, but it can also be used for other PCIe cards.  For the psu around a 650w but with some head room a 750w.

I would definitely recommend a good 750w PSU for 2 GTX970s in SLI.  Yes, 650w can do it, but you want some head room.  You don't want the PSU to be at or near 100% utilization when under full load.  If you were doing an i7 and OC'ing (which I know you're not) then I would even say an 850w to give you some more headroom.  The extra headroom never hurts as you will only use as many watts as the system needs.
