Nvidia are shating themselves are predicted by AMD release early 14th - 24th of June :) They feel threatened enough to lower there prices before the coming AMD launch it's lie a Vice Versa scenario nothing to be OVERLY concerned about.  Basically AMD v Nvidia shenanigans V20000000000000000 ;D

for sli they need the same chip and vram

Nope, they don't need the same VRAM.

You can SLI an 8GB 290x and a 4GB 290x but that extra 4GB from the 8GB version won't be used.

Still can SLI

Definitely real

Unfortunately the card just isn't powerful enough to fully utilize that amount of VRam, unless you SLI two 4GB 960's you won't be able to take advantage of it, and we all know you'd be better off buying a single 970 as opposed to two $200+ 960's
