YouTube supports 4k 60 fps

Arty

Watching 4K YouTube videos on Google Chome is about to get much faster (via http://bit.ly/-iGeeky)

http://bgr.com/2015/05/13/youtube-4k-videos-google-chrome/

Plus better playback at 30 fps

I'm tired, and posting from my ipod so you can read the article

But i think this is great they is 60 fps and that they found a way to lower bandwidth required and hardware required, without losing to much quality I would hope

60 fps is in testing I think or hidden feature atm

@Arty the title has pretty much nothing to do with the actual article.

The article is about less taxing video playback at all resolutions, and your title is "youtube supports 4K60fps"......which it has for months now.

The source you linked is actual news that has yet to be posted, AFAIK, but your title and some of your post is old news

It is a computer killer, no doubt, and I have the bandwidth to spare to handle 4K60

This is a computer with 16GB of RAM, a 2GB 750M and a i7. More than enough power, then again with the currently implementation, not enough raw power. My temps were pegged, I'm fairly certain if it sustained it would throttle and look at those dropped frames. Absolute madness.

its not even a great experience on chrome as it is lol. 4k youtube isn't smooth and or that good looking.

then again I'm thinking it's either all up scaled 1080p or really bad bit rate

I don't think it is either because it chops up once the camera pans too fast, but on the slow shots it's so fucking beautiful it makes me wet.

There's still people struggling to get pass 1080p you know ...

Always live for tomorrow because you may never know when your game will be over ... I'm totally not going insane in anyway , shape or form ... I just have broken English and an open mind ...

What's that blue/red program you were using for testing? And is it iOS bound?

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Yeah, it's such a hog. But wow, you have such a OP internet connection speed.

Anyway, it doesn't even use GPU that much, all on CPU, what gives?
