In the Netherlands the supermarkets get bread that was made that same night by bakers, they just have to reheat it some in the supermarket itself.

But sometimes they sell it again what hasn't been sold the next day.

Anyway, bread here is good stuff almost anywhere you buy it.

But I can imagine other countries doing it entirely different.
