Safe to install like this?

flibberdipper

I was eying up this PSU to replace my current one, and I noticed that it has a hybrid mode. Would it be safe to use under the shroud in my Enthoo Pro with the fan side down, or should I leave it in "redneck" mode (you know, since we all drive 4MPG trucks)? And also, how quiet is the fan?

EDIT: Only reason I'm considering it is because people say the RM650 isn't good, and I don't feel like arguing.

For your money, the XFX XTR is much better then the Seasonic X, and honestly you won't notice the difference. The XTR also has hybrid fan mode. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650bbefx

I'd leave the fan up if you're going to be running it in passive mode most of the time.

I kinda noticed the San Ace in the SeaSonic one which could be a good thing... And I've dealt with enough XFX crap (mostly higher-end video cards), so I don't wanna deal with them more.

I've had to deal with deal with LOTS of XFX BS in the past, but my friend had an XFX 280 that was having fan issues, and man has their customer service and support really turned around, it's actually great now. I wouldn't even worry about having to touch them with the XTR though, being based on the excellent Seasonic G (with added modularity and hybrid fan mode). It also has a better fan (FDB) then the Seasonics.

The $35 is worth your time.

26?! Damn

My dad's truck gets 21/22, and it's a Hybrid -.-

Yup. It's at least a 6.2L diesel. Sad part is, our '08 CVPI gets the same... Our '70 LeSabre gets the same...
