i had one on my iphone last year but i dont remember what its called or if it would even work on my android. i have an android avant btw.

I would recommend retroarch. it has cores for pretty much every system thats emulatable on android.

i downloaded it, but i have no idea how to use this. everything is in raw code and all the youtube videos ive watched are outdated

I meant where ever on your phone storage. Its fairly simple but if you don't even try then you aren't going to get it. It is by far the best emulator out there.
