Alienware Area 51 Looks like a 90's PC

uhMayzedHD

Today I login my Youtube account and I saw someone buys $3000 AlienWare Area 51 from Newegg that comes with dual 980's with x99 MOBO with 5820k and 16GB of Ram.

Want to know what it looks like inside?

It looks like those white 90's computer you pull apart everything looks like it came from the 90's even the MOBO I'm surprise that this motherboard has SLI support and DDR4 looks like DDR2 only thing that look modern is the 980s

Honestly would you spend $3000 dollars + Shipping? If it look like this? At least make feel good about my purchase. *FacePalm*

Looks like a 90's PC? I wouldnt say that.. but i wouldnt buy them, either, because Alienware is overpriced and you can get things cheaper yourself.

The first and second image bear no resemblence.

Yes, the interior doesn't look amazing, but if you noticed it also has no window. It's a stripped down board, most buyers won't need eight DIMM slots and 128GB DDR4. It has the features it needs and none it doesn't. I specc'd this thing up a little while back (noting some things, including how the PSU is 80 Plus Platinum), and it doesn't cost that much less to build yourself, especially when factoring in the warranty and tech support that comes with an Alienware.

Colors and no heatsinks or covers on the RAM.

RAM doesn't need heatsinks, so that doesn't matter. As for color, the most prominent colors are blue and black.

I'm not sure what PC's you saw in the 90's, but the Area 51 is nothing like the 90 PC's I've seen(or built).

Every pre-built is like that. It doesn't have a window, so it really doesn't matter.

Uh. Sure it's over priced, sure it's retarded, but you have to remember, it's not a custom built PC. They aren't gonna throw in a $500 motherboard and fancy RAM, since the only people who buy those have no clue how a computer works.

also, all RAM looks like that, one of my Corsair Vengeance sticks doesn't have the heat spreader on it (problems with custom cpu cooler) and it looks the same.

imo it looks like my poo. /s :P

But yeah, its not that great looking internally, though the only part of the design of the area 51 that I like is the lighting on the side panels.

The blue light and the clean look to it just looks so faptastic.

Looks are only skin-deep. The parts are fine. With an Alienware, you pay for the exterior and the brand. Are you getting what you're paying for in respect to that? Yes, you are.

Judging things on looks doesn't say much. The Hennessey Venom GT looks like someone hit the Lotus Elise with Viagra and the ugly stick, and what does it amount to? The fastest car on the road.

The Area 51's internals looks like garbage. I would be afraid of the sketchy PSU blowing up, motherboard overheating, and capacitors exploding. Alienware = garbage components that are overpriced and a *stylish* case. Alienware computers are designed for little kids, kids, ect. to go, "Mommy I want your credit card, or to gain some debt because of this computer that can run Minecraft at 60fps full hd."

wow, you must have very good eyes, seeing that the PSU is sketchy, probably based on colour coded wires, motherboard will overheat of the 125W of pure power and that the capacitors are low quality.

You should work as a quality control robot!
