Does anyone know a good strategy to paint plastic/metal PC cases?

FairladyZ

Paint designed for metals? Several light coats until it looks desirable?

I might want to change the colors on my case, because there are some nasty marks from my clumsiness and my pets...Anyone know a good way to make the paint stick well and look good?

Just be sure to properly prep the surface using scotch brite or 400 grit sand paper to rough up the surface and cleaning before using a good quality primer on the plastics. Self etching primer can help especially on bare metal parts (unfinished metal) but on plastic is can take away some of the original textured finish, afterwards you can apply your topcoat of choice.

If you want a super high gloss finish that's a lot more work since it require cutting back the paint or clear coat and polishing if you want to go that route, for general matte and satin finishes just regular spraying and drying is usually not bad, it may give a slightly orange peel texture.

^ Preping the work area takes 85% of the work.
