So i'm buying 32gb of DDR4 and i don't know much about ram sorry. So my question is which would be better? Should i buy 4x8gb or would 8x4gb be better? i kinda feel like the second would be better but i'm not entirely sure. Thanks for the help :P

(I don't plan on upgrading btw. By the time i do i'll probably just build a new computer all together.)

4x8 quad channel works better, and is usually cheaper but resells better than lots of smaller memory

8x8gb m8

but performance wise I don't think it matters. I would get the 4x8Gb since you will have expandability and just higher capacity sticks to use(in case if this machine donates parts to other machines some day).

Rarely someone will need 64GB, so if you don't see yourself upgrading it at all, go for the better looking path then!

Kind of what i was thinking. I like the look of all 8 sticks better but just wondering about performance.

Having 8 RAM slots is... I don't think that exists on a consumer platform :P

X99 Deluxe Motherboard.

I think it's all 2011 based boards though.

As long as you put them in the correct slots, there will be no difference in performance.

I'd say you have to weigh up the difference (if any) in costs, and the looks. Having all slots occupied will look better, but if they cost more, the first option may be better. Unless you're doing some very serious stuff, you shouldn't need 64GB

4X8 is better..less stress on memory controler, lower power consumption and leave you the option to add another kit down the road if needed.

The Asus X99 Deluxe supports up to 64GB of ram. Get the 4x8GB kit, that way you'll have upgrade room for up to 64GB. There is a updated one with USB 3.1,  it just comes bundled with the USB 3.1 card, and X99 is socket 2011-3 not socket 2011.
