Are xigmatek PSUs Reliable?

xvantok

The title pretty much says it all, are they?

The reason is I have an opportunity to pick up a 500w 80+ bronze Semi modular PSU for only £30 and I want to know if it's a good or bad call.

Also would one of these be able to power a AMD HD 7850 2x2GB/R9 280x/GTX 670?

It Won't Fail Cause of Me.

No. It's the maverick but not the maverick S:

"Xigmatek Maverick 500W '80 Plus Bronze' Semi Modular Power Supply"

Even the Maverick S is built poorly, though it does have okay performance (at least on 12V) I would not get the Maverick. Xigmatek has never been known to make good PSUs.

Does it have good reviews? If so, get it, if you can find ones with better average reviews and the same features for the same or lower price, get that one.

This one is far from the best unit, however it is a good budget PSU, seemingly on par or better than the cheaper PSUs like Corsair CX etc
