Your favorite games for Windows 98?

flibberdipper

I'm looking to hoard some games for my old rig, but I need some ideas. It's gotta run like sex on a PIII @ 500MHz and a VooDoo 3 3000 16MB (AGP, of course!), and at 800x600 at the least. :)

Since that was basically my childhood I played a lot of PC games back then. To name a few: Diablo II, Age of Empires II, Heroes of Might and Magic III, Unreal Tournament (99), Gothic, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale... you get the idea :)

will these games run flawlessly in a VM environment with a 2500k @4.4, 16gb, gtx 670SC 4gb, creative titanium hd?

if not then will a 5820k suffice?

thanks

oh! by the way,  I highly recommend Star Trek Klingon Academy and Star Wars Shadow of the Empire

C&C red alert, dune2, Systemshock1, Planescape torment. also for C&C red alert there is the optional version OpenRA which is basically red alert and dune2 rewritten to work on modern systems and work amazingly whit better resolution options although its open version so it does not have any of the original soundtracks unless you have the game and the ui is kinda bad in my opinion compared to the original one but its great fun if you dont want to go though the problem of getting red alert and dune2 working on dosbox

dont use VM for old games first try to run them in compatibility mode and if it does not work go to google and search dosbox and set it up for that VM almost never work for games from my experience
