I like The Book Thief ...

... Life is a game and the checkpoints are your birthday , you will face challenges where you may not get rewarded afterwords but those are the challenges that help you improve yourself . Always live for tomorrow because you may never know when your game will be over ... I'm totally not going insane in anyway , shape or form ... I just have broken English and an open mind ...

I like The Book Thief ...

I can't say I did. I thought the PG-13 rating was detrimental especially due to the movie's holocaust theme plus it doesn't follow the book.

I don't have problem with "bad" movies per se (ultimately it depends who you ask about it), and some of my favorite movies are "guilty pleasure" ones that are considered bad. I do have a huge problem with poor acting... I can't stand it... It breaks my immersion into the plot of the movie...

Atleast with The Room, breaking the immersion is what makes it fun. The acting is so over the top, and the story is so ridiculous, that you are forced to watch it as a piece of work and not as a movie.

You will be laughing at just how incompetent the movie is made.

This is the general rule of "So bad, they're good" movies. Their humour are extremely meta.

I just rewatched Battle Royal last night. Still one of the best movies ever made. Just avoid the sequel. It's really bad.

I'm planning to rewatch Vampire Girl Vs. Frankenstein Girl later today. It's probably the best Japanese satire movie ever made (atleast to my knowledge).

So at my local cineworld, the IMAX projectors died so we couldn't watch Age of Ultron before all the normal people. But we got free tickets as reimbursement... So yeah...

So do I just comment on what was already said, or do I add something? And if I am suppose to add something, how do I do it?

I never liked Happy Gilmore. I never really liked Adam Sandler as a comedy actor. He was brilliant in Punch-Drunk-Love, which just makes me wonder why he didn't focus on a more drama oriented movie career.

If I am suppose to add something, I can say that I'm a big fan of Italien horror movies, especially Lucio Fulci films.

I recently watched Porno Holocaust, which might be the worst movie I have ever seen, and I have seen Trash Humpers

Cinema snob fan? Otherwise how else would you know about Porno Holocaust?

I really loved The Imitation game.

Tears were running down my face by the end.

And the soundtrack was just fantastic

I have watched some of Cinema Snob's videos, but that is not where I know Porno Holocaust from.

I just found the movie for sale at my local video store, and with a title like that, I just had to buy it.

After I had bought  it and watched it, I found out that Cinema Snob made a video on it. And I have to say, that he is 100% correct in his criticism of it.

Do you think that's how the Snob finds all his movies to review? Besides the ones he gets requests for...

He might do it that way. It don't really know, but it is an intersting way of finding obscure movies.

An easier way would probably to do some research online for old explotation films. Most of them have had an audience since the late 1970's, and the audience is probably keeping their passion alive online.

Before the internet, there was even magazines dedicated just for these types of movies. I remember my dad used to get some of them, and you could even order some movies via mail order.

Edit: If anyone is tntersted, I just rewatched Die Welle.

It's still a fantastic movie, and it is better than the American original.

I just watched Inside Out again and wanted somewhere to post about what's spinning in my head ATM. This thread seemed like the best spot. Anyways, I'm currently of the view that it's the best Pixar movie. Had that opinion immediately after watching it for the first time, still hold that view. I would almost go as far as calling it the perfect movie. Especially that one particular scene that everyone would who has watched it would know.

Also in the interests of this thread topic here are my "top 5 movies" as they currently sit in my head:

- Inside Out

- Alien

- Blade Runner

- Die Hard

- Fight Club

I thought Inside Out was "cool", especially on a visual level. But honestly, I think it didn't have the same charm as other movies like The Incredibles or Finding Nemo had. Also, I don't think the message that it gives to kids is necessarily a wise one either, seeing as it basically says that kids aren't in full control of their own emotions or thoughts due to the deterioration of memories and emotions. Sounds an awful lot like Bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.

When I first watched it I thought it was about mental illness but I quickly came to a different conclusion about half way through the movie. There's nothing wrong with the main character, she's a perfectly normal 12 year old girl. I suspect that if you took away the "gimmick" of the movie you wouldn't be thinking the kid had some kind of mental illness.

The movie isn't about that, the movie is about dealing with change and growing up. The same sort of themes that most Pixar movies deal with. The difference is that they've done it in a way that's incredibly personal and it's just executed so well.
