someone tell me how to train a dog

RAGINRICKY

ok so... we recently got a 9 week old puppy. we have her trained shit outside but she chews on everything and bites everybody. we cant trust her to be alone in the house because she shit everywhere and get into things that she shouldn't. just tell me how i can make her not bite and trust her to be alone. if the fact that i'm going on to a tech forum doesn't show how desperate i am, i don't know what will.

Smack a bitch up? No? Eh... Tough crowd.

Do not  as I  do, and  not  as I say. Instead do as you may..

Dont encourage poor behavior. Don't pet your dog when they're all upity, don't present a lot of energy when they do something wrong because they pickup on that, only reward them when they behave correctly,

I could go on for ages, but it just comes down to the owner acting a certain way around the dog. That and puppies are puppies, its going to take some time for them to stop playing.

Welcome to having a puppy. That's what they do.

Try an obedience class. They're really worth it. My parents did that with their dog, night and day difference after.

Nothing is an instant fix, and nothing is achieved without a lot of time put in by you.

It's basically like having a kid.

As for shitting in the house. You should be walking it. Frequently.

Operant conditioning. It's more effective if it actually loves you and isn't just into you for food. :0/

All puppies will bite you and destroy everything. Find a way to punish your dog (not physical punishment obviously) and do so every time they do something bad. A lot of it will just be waiting for them to transition out of the puppy stage and calm down.

To train them to do their business outside, you basically have to take them out every 10-15 minutes and hope they go. When the do, reward them. When they go in the house, punish them. They will learn pretty quick.
