RAID 0 2x Samsung 850 Pro or not on SATA 3

STOP.

The 990FX does not have TRIM when RAID is there. And the AMD Sata controller can barely handle 1 drive, thats why AMD chipsets never get the advertised ssd speeds.

So dont do RAID 0 or any RAID on AMD 990FX

I have a 990FX board from ASUS M5A99FX Pro 2.0. Currently it has one 256GB Samsung 850 Pro. I will get another of the same drive in the near future, Should I RAID 0 or on SATA 3 it doesn't make sense?

Are you asking if you should make a RAID array of two SSDs or are you wanting to have two separate drives?

AMD FX8350  2x ASUS Radeon R9 270X 4GB  ASUS Sabertooth 990FX  -  Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3 16GB

RAID 0 array, never have raided SSDs before. Wanted to know if SATA 3 would be saturated or not.

I have 2 840 pros in raid 0. I don't notice a difference(speed wise) between that and my other PC with a single 840 evo in it in real world use.

only reason I would say yes to raid 0 is to just have all that space as big drive. but be warned. you lose 1 drive you lose everything on both. if you are ok with that risk they why not I say.

Makes sense. Thank you.

oh yeah I forgot that AMD does not support TRIM in raid. good catch.

I have been suffering with it for soo long. This is no.1 on my list on reasons to move to Intel. I just cant stand underperforming hardware,
