Can't Sleep

Guest Philosophy

I can't sleep I lied in bed (talked to a friend and listened to music) for an hour or so... which usually works. Then for the last 30 mins I went for a run... still not anywhere near tired... if I am not tired don't sleep?

Really? I work 911 dispatch. We have 12hr shifts. I work the nights. So I wish I was asleep lol, but I'm stuck at work. Sometimes, it's when you're thinking too hard about sleeping that you have the hardest time trying to.

I generally boot up a game, drop my chair to its lowest position (stretch my legs out (if you can; I arranged my desk specifically so I could)) and sit back with a 360 PC controller and move nothing but my thumbs and eyeballs to conserve energy. :0/

Keep all distracting stuff away from you like Laptop, TV (unplug it), phones, bla bla bla. Also set the room temperatures, mess around until you find your sweet spot. Drink warm tea/milk or maybe it's your bed....

Don't use your phone or pc. The light triggers some hormones in your brain so you feel less sleepy. The best thing is to turn of all electronics an hour before bedtime. I know it sounds hard but it works :)

Don't go for a run if you can't sleep, that only makes things worse as far as I know, do that during the day.

Sleep depravation... So you have it too eh ?

Iv been there , usually  it happens when you sleeps less and work hard.

Just start thinking about how many atoms are in youre bed and try to count and guess them .

So to put this in a nutshell : bore youre self to sleep .
