Titan X SLI - Cooling options

Pandagasm

Sooo im hitting thermal throttling like a bitch, 1400mhz down to 1000mhz, ive tried to find alternative coolers but dont see anything worth buying, does anyone have any suggestions?

Id ideally like an AIO watercooling unit, but dont want to do a full custom water setup as thats too much effort atm.

Cheers!

better airflow in your case.

Add some more fans and try to direct the fresher air to the gpus

an AIO would work I guess, but you'd have to put some heatsinks on the VRMs

Unless they are trapped inside a box where the rear vent cant get air out of the case you should be no where near max temps. Shit I've got 2 in a h440 right now and they are cold

I really don't see the problem with thinking a custom loop is too much of a pain. It will take hours of research, more hours of assembly, and will cost at least in the $500 range.

I fix planes in Switzerland :)

Thanks for the ideas, the full custom water cooling is not a route i want to go down atm it really is more work than I want right now, ill have a look at the kraken AIO option, thanks.

For info my case is a Cosmos 2 with custom side window. It has good airflow, around 7 intake fans and 4-6 exhaust if you include the fpu fans...

Loving these titan x's though :) And playing Ryse son of rome with max settings at 2560x1440 I get 50 fps. LOL, does looks incredible though :D

those cards should not be thermal throttling, whats your ambient temp?

I would try just doing the top card with a Kraken G10.  I've helped others who have dual cards that are throttling, they wanted to do both, I told them just do the top and go from there, usually removing the heat from one helps both.  Set it as rear exhaust.

G10 Bracket: $10-$30 -- Check TigerDirect, often on sale for $10 after MIR.

AIO of Choice: $50-$90 -- Don't go bigger than 140mm.  Massive diminishing returns after 120mm.

VGA to PWM Adapter -- For the 92mm fan, so you don't have to use a mobo fan header. Consider buying a higher end 92mm PWM fan to control it in MSI Afterburner and help with VRMs.  You generally want this running at or near 100% at all times.  The included one is very good, but this is the Titan X after all.

Double Sided Thermal Pads -- For attaching heatsinks over the VRMs.

Aluminum Heatsinks -- Place aluminum heatsinks on top of the thermal pads to help with VRM cooling.  Don't use copper, copper is too heavy and will fall off.
