May I suggest the Steel Series 5HV3? I use them as my daily drivers. They are analog, so no drivers, really nice ear cups and the audio is really outstanding for a "gaming" headset.

 junker build in the making

HyperX Cloud 2, Siberias are terrible...my personal opinion, "gaming headsets" are all around terrible. But if you must choose, get the HyperX Cloud 2

Does its 7.1 surround work?

I personally recommend the Cloud1's. You can get the Cloud2's if you want the virtual surround sound, but thats not worth it for an additional 20 bucks in my opinion.

I am now currently using the Cloud1's and my previous headsets were the Steelseries V2's. The Clouds are amazing for 70 bucks on sale. This is the same price as the Steelseries V2's, but the Clouds are just so much more comfortable with real leather. The aesthetics on the clouds are also much better than the v2 and v3 with brushed aluminum. The mic on the Clouds are also detachable and are way better than the mic on the v2's. The noise cancellation on the Clouds are definitely a lot better than v2's. The clouds come with a lot more extras such as a carrying bag, airplane adaptor, and cloth for the earcups.

The Clouds are honestly the best bang for the buck headset around especially when they are on sale. I am honestly so impressed with them. There definitely are better headphones out there with better sound quality for the audiophiles, but I am sure they would even agree that the Clouds are superb and comfortable for gaming.

Even though i have Steelseries, I'd buy the Cloud.

My friend has the Cloud and i tried it for a few hours, i have to say, it's not that comfortable, and it doesn't cover as good, nor has it as good bass as the Steelseries.

In other respects, it's better than the Steelseries ^^

i got my Could cause my G230 broke :D so at 1st i thought im reading my thread xD

but i would recommend Cloud II (has virtual 7.1 surround) i know a few guys who had their Siberia V2's die in the 3rd month of use

the cloud is a smaller headset then the G230 but still my big head fits :P

Is the cloud's 2 worth it just for the virtual 7.1 or should I just go for the cloud 1?

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

No, the USB dongle that comes with the II is reportedly pretty crap. Razer Surround can make any headphone "7.1" Also, 7.1 Headphones?

So no point wasting an extra £20 on the cloud 2's I should just go for the original clouds.

No

You might like Razer Surround for say, Battlefield. I wouldn't use it for music listening though. It's free, so give it a shot to see if you like it or not.

I would advise you to buy HyperX Cloud or QPAD QH-90 depending on what's cheapest (same headset, different branding) over the the Steelseries headphones. First of all, the HyperX headphones are built better and feels solid, and the sound is crystal clear and the bass is punchy. And secondly, it does have bigger drivers.

Also, I should mention that Steelseries Sibera V2 and V3 have quality issues and breaks easily, plus, the sound isn't that good either.

That doesn't actually matter.

Well, the bigger drivers actually does matter if you have proper equipment to power them. But anyways, comparing a steelseries headset with HyperX Cloud is a nobrainer > The HyperX Cloud sounds much better and is overall a better product
