So many choices.....

Oddly enough your income or your savings do not in fact determine your social class. It is entirely possible to be the lowest born plebeian, and yet have masses of wealth. Likewise, it is entirely possible to be of the highest Gentry and yet be completely broke.

I meant upper class as in money wise, but I completely get what you're saying :P

Welp I just purchased the i7 4790K and the Asus Maximus VII Hero. Love it. It now seems like I have less micro stuttering (not sure if this could help it)

From what it sounds there is only one thing you should upgrade.

Your CPU cooler.

Apart from that you just spend money on an improvement you will never notice. Seriously... at your age you should not waste money like that, no matter how you got it. Actually, noone should waste money like that, no matter how rich you are. That is like paying 100 bucks for one portion of ice cream, just because it looks fancy.

Well I wanted a newer cpu so it would last longer. I know you can still use i5 perfectly fine (3rd generation) but the cpu I felt just needed an upgrade. I already have an h100i but it seems it isn't working properly. I'm getting 40-50 idle and as soon as I do a max load I hit TJ Max. Going to try to re mount it and try a different thermal paste (I used icdiamond and it looked and felt like it was kind of dry and hard coming out of the tube so I'm not sure if that's it. I have also read there are mounting issues with 1150 and h100i so if re mounting it doesn't work I'll try to fix the mount. If nothing works I'll just RMA

What is you vcore at? maybe delid your cpu? I don't see why you should upgrade your Hardware :)

So it seems it might be the cooler. My new 4790k overheats very badly too. I was thinking maybe it was just ivy bridge getting its heat thing but now with this new one I know it's not. Going to try new thermal paste and a different mounting way and see if that works. If not RMA and complaining here I come. Everything I buy seems to break... Is it just me? xD. I'm always very careful especially with static and stuff. I clean my products all the time too. Also after installing my new hardware I got a message saying windows isn't genuine anymore. Before I got the new hardware I had 2 pretty vicious viruses but I think malware bytes got them. Should I just wipe all of my drives just in case? I have 5 btw... Any place I can store my data online? Should I do a wipe anyway to get rid of old drivers from my old cpu/motherboard? And if my h100i is broken is a hyper T4 good for now?

Maybe try this http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/140982-my-experience-with-the-h80i-and-a-small-mod/

You always have to register your Windows again if you swap the Motherboard :)

Oh yeah. Forgot about that. Should know This by now... I forgot to mention that when I turn my PC on there is this screech like sound. I know it's not my Gpu fans and I just got new fans on my rad today because I thought that was it... Could this have something to do with it?

Don't know never had a Corsair h100i but many have problems with the mounting so check that and try to let it run on full power and listen to it, that might help to verify if it is broken or not.

Ok I can try that. Do you know what size o rings they use? And also do you know what the sounds could be? I'll check case fans and see if it's one of those.

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/160851-how-to-fix-corsair-h100i-mount-high-temps/for the o rings: 5/16th O.D. x 3/16" I.D. x 1/16" and for the sound, i don't know but a silent humming noise at full blast should be normal but if there is any scraping noise it might be broken.

Oh it's not a humming. More of a scratching to me. I'll post a recording of it soon. In class right now. But if it seems to be a scratching to you any ideas of what it is?
