I currently am running an HP 2159M I believe (it's the monitor on my profile), and it's a pretty average TN panel with a 5 ms response time. But for whatever reason, the computer at my parent's business that hosts their survelience is a S2240M, an IPS monitor, which is displaying 480p/360p footage. However, it has a response time of 7 ms (this doesn't matter for the current setup it's in). Would it be worth to switch these monitors, and use the 7ms IPS monitor at home if I have gaming in mind?

I don't think the response time would matter, but check the refresh rate of both monitors. IPS panels usually don't have as high of a refresh rate as TN panels.

7 ms is still decent, but not optimal. Why not try it, I suppose

The other guy was talking about how there are barely any IPS panels with a higher refresh rate than 60.

Pretty sure they are both 60Hz panels

  • 2 weeks later...

The colors are absolutely worth it. I have two dell monitors in front of me, one TN, one IPS. I barely use the TN one, because I can't stand switching from the IPS to the TN...
