Go to solution Solved by werto165,

Can someone inform me on what Vulkan API is? Is it incorporated in any games, does it have any benefits, how does one get Vulkan, etc..

Read the LTT Beginner's Guide; it's like a guide on how to not be a moron

It's just openGL's new name since this is there new low level api just like mantle and dx12 GTA V is suppose to have it and more games will come in the future it won't be like mantle (having not many games) since openGL is already pretty established.

Apparently Vulkan allows openCL to run along side it. This is cool for a few reason but mainly, parallel computation can be done on the GPU while it renders frames.(not exactly how it works but you get the point).

This is like nvidia's physx on the GPU but its opencl compute, meaning it will run on any Vulkan supporting hardware irrespective of vendor. I'd like to Vulkan make a lot of impact because moving away from the necessity of windows for gaming would be nice. I'd probably still use windows for gaming, but I like options.

Also Vulcan's spec was designed by engineers at Epic Games, Unity and Value, so it has some backing from big names already.
