Being a grown up sucks. I should've listened to my parents when they said to me enjoy being a kid but when I was a kid, I was excited to become an adult. For example, as much as I want to get fiber internet, I can't afford it so I'm stuck to crappy DSL with 250 ms latency and the car I drive right now is company provided. I might as well invest in the stock market. I even considered modelling but the pay is measly.

Just a heads up, the HD graphics 630 isn't much more powerful than the 530 at all.

It's supposed to be for my personal rig but I considered my parents deserve an upgrade. So I'll probably give them the 256 gb and I'll get a 500gb for myself. Thanks for the heads up.

Interesting so it looks like vega may only be 10% faster then a 1080.

 

Edit: Based on the video you guys posted anyway. Thats really bad if it's true and then the 1080ti come and wipes the competition. I think it maybe due to Rysen, maybe it took budget away from the gpu R&D?

Maybe. If drivers shoot it up 20% like Adored said would be the absolute most it could gain from them, it will be 32% faster than 1080 which is in the ballpark of the Titan XP

 

Titan XP was actually only 30% faster than 1080 in 4K, and less so in 1080p but that's probably a CPU bottleneck being shown. (TPU's numbers)

 

Honestly Vega is still interesting to me because AMD's process this time around has better overclocking potential than Nvidia's. Pascal hits around 2100 and stops on its tracks. On the other hand an 8-phase VRM would actually be useful for something on a Vega card.

 

Also I want to look at their smaller chips, the super high-end is becoming an even smaller niche than before, with people needing to buy expensive af monitors or HMDs to even take advantage of the new hardware.

 

It's the fact that the price of making out 1080p has gone way down in the span of 2 years (from the $600 780 to the $200 RX 480 4GB), yet monitors have not gone down in price. 1080p IPS panels used to cost the same in 2011

well volta wont come till like AT LEAST JUNE or something. I mena if it does it will piss people off but volta i am expecting to be around in 2018. the same time the die shrink (7nm) on vega is. So it could be fun.
