No performance improvements for single GPU's...

Guessing I have no need to move on from Omega just yet.

/Still waiting for Project Cars single GPU optimization.

It's a fucking joke how it performs on a 290X compared to the Nvidia counterparts (780-970)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

The rotation eyefinity looks damn odd. Why would anyone want to game with that? Emulating a cockpit of Hawken???

You aren't thinking of the bigger picture.

Imagine a 2560 x 1600 monitor, with 2 1600 x 1200 monitors portrait on the sides.

Like many people, I have a (well, have had) setup like this, its basically the best thing you can/could get for a very long time for anyone that wanted a bigger main monitors and still nice side monitors.

Or a 2560 x 1440 with 2 1440 x 900 side panels (or even 1600 x 900, 1600 x 1050 etc, those few extra pixels missing won't be missed and remember AMD supports extended eyefinity)

It's a nice middleground between 3 16:9/16:10 monitors landscape, and 3 of them portrait monitors.

The fact that there is PLP support means soon there will be eve more flexible choices.

For example. Imagine 4 21:9 monitors. Two of them on top of each other in landscape, and 2 in portrait on the sides. (cant find a photo, but I have seen it in person, they line up almost perfectly)

Sadly... this doesn't support cards other than the 285 yet... but when it does... I CAN'T WAIT! BEEN WAITING 5 YEARS FOR THIS!

I'm going to be very blunt - a driver update constitutes a news post? Really?

I understand how 'big' FreeSync is supposed to be but this many posts? Something as mundane as this? You could've just consolidated everything into one post...

This doesn't even fit CoC for making posts in this section. Its just a copy paste of the source. Just a fair heads up...

Posting Guidelines:

When creating a thread in the News subforum, please make sure your post meets the following criteria:

  • Your thread must include some original input to tell the reader why it is relevant to them, and what your personal opinion on the topic is.
  • Your thread must include a link to at least one reputable source. Most of the time, this should be a respected news site.
  • Your thread should also include quotes from the cited source(s). While you shouldn't just copy the entire article, your quote should give the reader a summary of the article in a way that gives the key details, but also leaves room for them to read the full article on the linked website. Please use quote tags (the speech bubble at the top of the editor, under the   :)) to show that you have copied this content from another site.
  • The title of your thread must be relevant to the topic and should give a reader a good idea of the contents of the thread. Copying the title of the source is permitted but absolutely not required.
  • If your article is about a product or some form of media, images are always appreciated, although they are not required.

Failure to comply may result in your thread being locked or removed without warning.

FreeSync is a big thing right now and with the official and initial push of the technology it fits suit of being news worthy (some people own displays without drivers).

Everything here fits within the guidelines except your post. I would recommend reading the CoC and quit derailing threads.

Did I say FreeSync isn't? Thats why I said condense things into a single post if you're going to make a brand new post about every little detail about FreeSync. You already have a "FreeSync launched" post,  a driver update really doesn't qualify as news, you could've updated your other post, couldn't you?

Its still not how the CoC says posts here should be. So if you don't want me saying it, do a better job of making the post to begin with, eh?

So sue me that I'd rather not have this section get cluttered and instead be better organized and sue me more for expecting others who like to post, especially you since you post all the AMD news this place has, to do a better job with it.

A driver update is huge as it's a dependency for the technology that some people already have to work. Separate news goes into separate threads (programming 101).

I will say it again, I suggest you actually read the CoC. Why is it you show up guns blazing in every AMD thread. ;) If you don't like how I make posts why don't you try beating me to the punch? Or better yet not read them? I'm not going to change my fine posting habits to accommodate your needs.

I have read the CoC, and it kinda says not to copy pasted articles like yours. Don't try and deflect as if I'm the one making a mistake.

Also, if your insinuation is that I only do this for AMD threads, I'll happily go guns blazing on a Nvidia one too. Unlike some, my allegiances aren't bought and paid for so I'm not too concerned.

I copied key parts from the source (highlights) not the entire thing which is the sole purpose of a news thread. Posting just a source link is against CoC and I wouldn't suggest anyone take your advice. Neither are mine. Tho I will say you do have a habit for hitting AMD related threads pretty hard with nonsense like you are now. You could of actually followed the CoC and reported the thread instead of breaking the CoC by purposely derailing the thread, hm?

It's a little sad that the priorities are mixed up for them. This is all nice, but maybe focus on the gaming portion of things first?

And Project Cars is one of those titles where people with powerful cards are going to enjoy maxing out. You can't give 290/x owners that kind of experience and effort. Either shape up drivers on yor end or work with the developers.

Project Cars hasn't even been released yet. There's not a single problem with not having an optimized driver for a game that's not even available yet. The only time it's a problem is if the game's available and the optimized driver still doesn't exist. The fact they got optimized crossfire drivers for the game means they've already tackled the largest hurdle. Optimizing for single GPU's is easy (means it will come eventually).

I get that, but I still hate that I'm around 45-50fps with it Maxed/NoAA and the Nvidia counterparts (780) are way way way way above that.

Just shits me...

Best thing to do is to hit up AMD with feedback. See if they are planning on optimizing 15.3 for single GPU.

He just means that if you can't get decent performance with AMDs top end product (290x), then AMD either needs to fix the drivers or work with the devs to better optimize the game for the card.  This isn't just about AMD though, it applies to every company.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.
