What thermal paste should I buy?

1. Deep cool Z9 (keep in mind that you need to spread it out using the spatula supplied, and to put the cooler on evenly)

2. Arctic MX-4 (just apply a small dab and attach the cooler)

I had a tube of MX-4, but I used it all and couldn't buy any locally. The Z9 being a grease makes it IMO easier to apply and less prone to having problems.

Personally, I use Arctic Silver 5, but it seems to be the bad guy according to some of these responses ?

The last tube of it I had was miniscule and only enough for a few CPUs, on top of a $30 price tag, and the MX-4 I replaced it with got the same temps.

I use MX-2, just got 30g tube for 15 euro

15 euro? Converted to Australian dollars that would be more than what I paid for the same amount of MX-4 and Z9. I think you got ripped off.

No MX-4 20g tube would be around 18 euro, so getting MX-2 is a better option. And big thermal paste tubes 20-30g are hard to get, usualy I have to wait a week or two.

Personally I've used MX4, article silver and CM IC essential 1 & 2. No complaints about any of them
