It's frosty.
Idle doesn't count though. Run stress test :P

yeah, run a stress test, if any thing goes over 65 is when i'd start optimizing things personally. as long as your cpu is under 70 and your gpu under 75 its safe. (and thats a very conservative approach)

personally ''safe'' is load under 40. :D x'D but im just a snob about it.

FurMark for GPU. Aida64 for CPU.

What software should i use to stress it?

monitor you temps while gaming, theres some benchmarking sofware out ther. (ask other people. x'D idk) and prime 95.

again, as long as things GPU wise stay under 70~ish under load you're good. and for CPU 65 i'd say.

my snobbism still says under 40 at load. B)

x'D my laptop shuts itself down cause it hits 100*C when booting.

good job HP.... *medium speed claps with a pause here and there*

good job.

i have two 100mm desk fans under my laptop.

its like a hairdryer.

youtube videos push this poor thing to 70*C

my new system should be fine though. i'll be modding my case for more fan mounts (currently a 80mm intake and 120 exhaust only) and throwing some cougar or noctua fans in there. i have a hyper tx3 for my q8200 and am probs gonna get a VGA cooler for my gpu. (case is the cooler master centurion 5, its old and got it for 30 bucks. i was happy. )

Cougar has some nice quiet fans too. ^-^

Noctua has black fans too. :o theyre like a dollar or two more though. Also i personally like noctua's brown. ^-^ its shmecksie. :o

Ive planned out in my head where i'll be putting the fans, theres room enough for another 120mm and in the bottom maybe a 140. i'll also get some felt and makw some padding to quiet things down. :D

Definitely.

That's what I get with my rig that has very good air flow in a cold room of the house.

If you want to fry some eggs - sure.

That thing over volt CPU, it heats more than it should even at 100% load.

On topic: that's pretty much correct. Dont let it yet higher than 90 at absolute most.
