Who needs a Titan X sli?

Inderpreet

I have a very stupid question - who needs a TITAN X in SLI like 2,3 or 4 way. that doesn't make sense right? GTX 980s in SLI does make a bit sense. TITAN X has got 12 gb and 4 way its like 48gb. who needs a titan x in 4 or 3 or 2 way sli?

BECAUSE PC MASTER RACE!!!!!!!!!!!!

No JK because some people like to make things OVERKILL.

Downloading programs from CNet is not a good idea, as they will commonly include unwanted, and sometimes dangerous bloatware... The more you know.

5k/3x 4k/1440p, or people who like to go overkill, things like that. Also in 4 way SLI it's still only 12GB, for now at least.

RIP in pepperonis m8s

that's not how sli works. you sli 2 12 gb cards, you have 12 gb vram. anyone wanting to play at 4k or 5k on high graphics settings at 60 fps would need more than one titan x.

Me, because I do folding / Boinc tasks, and I could even use 21-way Titan X with 100% scaling.

How's that possible, you ask? Using a PCIe Riser along with a PICe 3x hub (get's 1 PCIe and turns it into 3).

4 way Titan X sli would make me soil myself. You think I'm kidding heh.

SLI with a massive card like this is completely unneeded, unless your working with multiple insane rendering jobs running at once.

So no, its not worth it at all. One card would probably be overkill on its own.

Is it possible to use one of these to sli two cards if your motherboard doesn't support sli

GPU ram doesn't stack and is a unique item. *dota reference*

This might change, dx12 might make it happen.

Because you need to rock those triple monitor 4k setups with max FPS. And if you still want more then put five 4k monitors in portrait.

1) a business that can use them, and can write the expense off

2) a senseless idiot with access to cash that someone else earned.

GPU ram doesn't stack

Erm considering that Titans are designed for workstation use, vram absolutely DOES stack since the cards are used independently and NOT in SLI.

Two 980s aren't a great solution for even one 4k monitor. A two way titan x setup seems ideal.

Thrive on change. Embrace volatility.
