GTX 970 Trouble.

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

88% even though it should be idle

k then youve got a mining virus or some program that did not close properly

this is why your fps is so bad in games

run malwarebytes and an antivirus like AVG or avast, see if they find anything

also check your CPU usage, what is it at? Is there a process that is using up your CPU a lot?

Hey guys, major problem here. Recently my GTX 970 has been having major performance problems. Normally I get about 80 - 100 fps in BF4 on ultra, but since two days ago I only get 45 - 50fps. I haven't changed anything on my PC in the last few days and have no idea why this is happening. My cpu is the FX 8320. That can't be the problem though as it was working great just a few days ago. I'm really confused and have tried everything I can think of, including rebooting, uninstalling recent installs, driver uninstalls and re-installs etc. MSI Afterburner also says gpu is at 100% which can't be right... Anyone else have a similar problem? I'm seriously worried here :(

That sounds possible. I'll try that. CPU Usage is low, so it's just gpu.

idk how to find GPU processes...but obviously some program is using your GPU when its not supposed to

hopefully malwarebytes finds it

Not a lot, but I did a bit. I've since uninstalled utorrent but maybe it's still active somehow?

Yeah I hope so too, it's not fun having low fps when you should have much higher. Scan will take a few mins anyways. Hopefully it will help :)

I'm not sure what it was but malwarebytes seems to have cleared it. It's working for now at any rate. Thanks so much mate :D
