Clarification

So I need some clarification. I have been told that you should either be a console or pc gamer. I thought that not all console games could be played on pc, hence the reasoning to have a pc and a console. wtf?

I am, I have emulators for games but there aren't emulators for xbox 360 and ps4 etc...

If you want my opinion, best solution is: PC first and primarily, Nintendo current gen console (if you care for Nintendo), one of the current gen consoles (if you care for exclusives), one (or both) last gen consoles (again, exclusives, and cheap non exclusives) and at least one PS2.

They're different! Unless you have a PS2 then you can play PS2 on a PC with PCSX2, still waiting on PS3 emulator though

I have a ps2 emulator but it's not very good and most emulators I have take allot of time to understand inorder to get them working decently

Because theyre meant for the console not for the PC so optimizing it for the PC needs emulators, but emulators can be glitchy and sometimes wont even work at all because a PC is not a PS2.

I am a console gamer and I game as much as I do on my PC as I do on my consoles and I know I am not the only one here (various topics and polls have been created), so I think you made a huge assumption based on nothing really. So don't talk on the behalf of others please...

OP, You need to have your own Opinion and Decision. I own a PS3 and a PC, i frequently play GTA V or racing Games because racing game is always leading in Joysticks, FPS is more for PC. Various games are made exclusively for Consoles, so are PC games, If you feel like you want the best of both world, then own a PC and a Console and be a Hybrid.

 

And OP, You can touch whatever console you like

I greatly prefer PC gaming over console gaming for a few personal reasons.

1. I dislike split-screen multiplayer

2. I wanted something I could fix myself if it broke without fear of being banned (unlike the Xbox)

3. The games I enjoy playing are better on PC (bf4, bf2, Skyrim, Half Life, Bioshock)

4. Building a high end PC ended up being cheaper than buying a console for games and a pc for work.

5. I support open-source manufacturing, so buying a console is not ideal for me.

Now, that being said, I own a PS3 and use it to play grand turismo 5 and Mortal Kombat with my room mates. I've tried playing call of duty and Bioshock on the PS3, but I become frustrated using a controller because I have trained myself to use a mouse+keyboard for most games. (Mortal Kombat feels much better on a controller)

The PC vs Console argument is flawed, because it comes down to personal taste.

By numbers and science though, the PC can beat the Consoles in almost any battle. Here's a much better discussion topic though:

Now, if you absolutely had to choose one, console OR pc, which would you choose? If devs could only develop for one platform, crap ports would not be a problem. No company could buy a developer to exclude other platforms while releasing their games. The mere existence of multiple gaming platforms creates the Xbox vs ps4 vs PC vs Wii U argument... We should all band together as consumers and demand justice from Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo. We want a universal platform to run all games! No more exclusive titles! What's the REAL difference between consoles? Exclusives. And yes, PC has its own too.

What are you talking about? That is not what making emulators is about..

They can't properly emulate PS4 and Xbox One (or Xbox 360 or PS3 for that matter) is because emulating requires more power than what the console has

(That's some basic emulation right there).

 

They are working on a PS3 emulator at the moment, which can only really play some menu screens and I heard Terraria too, because other games are too demanding.

And I suppose Dolphin is working on Wii U too, but they have said the jump from Wii -> Wii U was much bigger than the jump from GameCube -> Wii

(For obvious reasons, if you know all these consoles)
