p.s i have a gigabyte ga z97x gaming 3 motherboard and intel core i7 4790k processor but no graphics card

Uh.. Not really for regular work, but iGPU is not good for gaming.

 

I thought i7's had no igpu...

It has igpu. 

That's why people say Xeons are: "Basically i7's without igpu"

It will not, I've run two displays off the iGPU in a G3258 which is weaker than the iGPU in your i7 and it had no noticeable impact on system performance.

you are right in the sense that enthusiast x79/x99 dont but mainstream do have an igpu.

Will not have any negative effect on your PC at all.

Make sure Windows Aero is enabled after you set it up,...or you may see image tearing.

 

This isn't just for your setup, but for everyone.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
