I just got mad cause I have seen that copy paste soo many times

You disregarded facts because they came up so often in various threads...It's not posted for shits n giggles :P

I have all that copied myself in a text document for threads like this, no doubt why you see it often as I'm sure others do too... It's handy info to have on hand.

Glad you now wanna read it though, having the right facts on hand not only save you time, but anyone you help in the future.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Did you fucking read the title? Its not "For gaming". Its just which one is god damn better.

And the 8350 DOES beat the 4690k in compute performance

YEA!!! Relax already.., -_-  Ok Also there is no way that a Pile driver, Dozer or APU that can even touch the Devil's Canyon. ;)  I have owned the 8150, 6300, 6350, and the 8350 and I also have right next to me the A10 6800. ALL Benched for gaming with the MSI R9 290X lightning. None in PhysX did over 20 frames but the 4690K. It did over 50 frames and before you say I am a Intel fan. I didn't become 1 till this past Christmas when I seen 1st hand how crappy the Red Team was doing. The guy that even started the post needs to be shot . You start comparing CPU's Intel VS AMD its like the starting scene of saving private Ryan. Also facts are facts.

Intel is more expensive than AMD, Intel crushes AMD in CPU's. AMD does make a great gaming machine. Mantle is going to own in the future and free sync.

So in the end ... Just DONT... This is been done, re done and done way too many times. LET IT GO!!!!!!!!! ^_^

Gonna cuffem and stuffem. QUE QUE QUE. I love it I love it. :P

Sir, did the op ask about gaming in this thread? The 8350 beats the 4690k in pure power. And before you call me an AMD fanboy, I am not, I support only AMDs Radeon branch. For all else, my 5820k is arriving next weak

I've noticed my FX-8350 running cooler than many Intel chips at the same clock rate and power consumption, but there are many variables to this. I'm generally an AMD fanboy simply because they are cheaper for similar performance. I know my chip is outperformed, but nobody has yet provided me with a stock CPU that performs as well as mine for less than $200USD.

I got a very cheap deal on the 8350+Sabertooth+16gigs. Got it used for $400 in mint condition an year ago. I considered a 4790k or a 4690k, but for that price the deal was unbeatable.

It doesn't run cooler.  You cannot compare the temperature of FX to Intel because FX measures from the socket, which uses an algorithm, its not accurate.  The power consumption of an FX8350 is 100W higher than a stock i5, and that is comparing stock to stock, once you overclock, that disparity grows.

The i5-4440 costs $160-$175 and thrashes anything FX that is overclocked to 5.0Ghz.

In @harrynowl's CPU tests, the 4690k beats the 83xx when both overclocked. Granted it's not by much and his 83xx doesn't overclock that far, but I don't think it's fair to say, "8350 beats the 4690k in pure power" when it's only in certain, perfectly multithreaded tasks like rendering when both CPU's are at stock, and again they're so close it's not even worth mentioning as an argument for the 83xx (unless you're bringing price into the matter).

Not really.  An i5-4690k + Z97 motherboard has been ~$300 since it was released and 16GB of RAM doesn't provide any benefit in gaming over 8GB of RAM.  You could have spent about $375 and gotten an i5 + Z97 motherboard + 8GB of RAM that handily beats any FX processor.  You got had.

Some people like the royalty of 16gb, it helps with ramdisk and rendering. Anyways I had a channel and was rendering videos. The parts new cost $700, so $300 back for a new mobo and used ram/cpu was good for me.

Do you really think FX is going to beat Skylake in gaming with DX12 when unlocked Haswell i5's are already on par with 83xx multithreaded performance?

(I'm assuming DX12 will be out in <=1 year, and so will Skylake, but Zen is apparently coming out late 2016)

As far as temperature, we had tested with thermal nodes and the motherboard reporting the CPU temp, according to our results (my friends 4590 vs my 8350), my ran cooler and better. Who knows what caused the supposed discrepancy, but regardless. What I saw with my own eyes was that my chip was cooler and better performing. I don't doubt the fact that our test wasn't as accurate as some, I'm just reporting what we found during our test.

Go to page one and read the long post I made.  Somewhere in there, you will find an email from the designer of FX series talking about how it is measured from the core using an algorithm and how the cores run hotter than the socket.
