Benefit to using a Pool instead of yourself..?

 

Why?

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Because in 24h of solo mining I got nothing.With this pool I've actually made around 0.1 in only one hour.

That EXPLAINS nothing...

 

By myself a few days ago,....In my first hour I had 3.9

By myself on my second day (2 hours of mining) I got another 3.7.

 

If I was in a pool, what would be different..?

 

My hash rate wouldn't go up...? It would?

My hash rate is the same, but now I get a steady income.For me solo mining didn't seem to work because in 24h I didn't solve any block so I switched to a pool.If you think that you can have more ziftrcoins by solo mining, then it;s your choice.

I didn't think that, I wanna know the specific benefits of a pool first before I go and join one. It's that simple.

As I said, steadier income: instead of 36 ZRC/day you get 0.01 ZRC/minute.It's still the same, if you do the math, and you have aprox the same hashrate.There aren't any specific disadvantages, except that you pay a pool 1% of your income and that I find it rather hard to setup.

Right First You need to go to https://ziftr.suprnova.cc/index.phpand create an Account and a Worker

 

    To create a Worker you need to navigate to the 'My Account' Tab and click on 'My Workers', From there you can add a new worker

 

Then Go to the Help page and download the CPU Miner - (Windows Binary) - https://ziftr.suprnova.cc/index.php?page=gettingstarted

 

Then once you have downloaded that, you need to create a .Bat file in the folder which contains the CPU-Miner (Call the .Bat File 'RunMe'

 

You then need to edit the .Bat file and insert this onto the first line.

 

minerd.exe -a ziftr -o http://ziftr.suprnova.cc:9991-u YourAccountUser.Workername -p WorkerPassword

 

    Where it says 'YourAccountUser.Workername' you would change this to whatever you have them as in your account for example    -   'StevesAccount.StevesWorker' and then the password would be the password you have set for the worker 

 

Then once you have done that you can just run the .Bat file that you created and then it should start mining ZiftrCoins 

 

Hopefully that works for you guys :)

Getting an http error using this pool

 

I tried this pool https://zrc.maxminers.net/index.php using the same procedure and it seems to work fine, so it might have been a problem with the suprnova pool.

Tried this pool, and it says https is not supported or disabled in libcurl

 

 

Anyone know of a pool that is working with this method, or of a way to get either of these two pools to work?

 

EDIT: The .bat is in the noncepool-ziftr-cpuminer-win64 folder on my desktop, alongside the minerd.exe and libwinpthread-1.dll files. I'm fairly sure this is where it goes and not the ziftrcoin wallet parent folder.

How do I spend and convert my ziftrcoins? When I get a transaction under overview all the account numbers are different, but if I go to send I can send to a specific address. So do I send them to that address say in Cryptsy or my mobile wallet? Don't have a mobile wallet yet due to it not being on IOS yet.

Getting an http error using this pool

 

Tried this pool, and it says https is not supported or disabled in libcurl

 

 

Anyone know of a pool that is working with this method, or of a way to get either of these two pools to work?

 

EDIT: The .bat is in the noncepool-ziftr-cpuminer-win64 folder on my desktop, alongside the minerd.exe and libwinpthread-1.dll files. I'm fairly sure this is where it goes and not the ziftrcoin wallet parent folder.

 

If you're interested I'm currently uploading a guide where i join the SuprNova pool. The way to join the MaxMiners is exactly the same.

I'll post it here once it is up :) As long as no one minds it of course ^^

I've joined the MaxMiners pool to balance the pools a lil bit ^^

Would be awesome if you could join this as well because a single pool shouldn't have more than 51% of the total Network hasrate ;)

Thinking I should talk to the technology teacher at my school and see if I can set up a pool of the 30+ computers we have in our tech lab. Might be a neat little experiment.

My lab tech and good friend is voulenteetring at an animal shelter. He said he's likely going to mine with their servers simply because each is at only about 15-35% usage. I'd love to see him actually do so and see how well he fairs!

Got it working with MaxMiners. Is there by chance any way to restrict the CPU usage percentage that way I can still work on some homework while I'm mining?
