This is awesome! I've been wondering when the client was going live but i haven't checked in about a week or two. download this tonight and let it run when i go to bed.

I'm running an Intel i7-4790K OC @ 4.3GHz and keeping it just under 87 Celsius with even a liquid cooler. This miner turns my room into a furnace using Intel stuff. I can't even imagine what you AMD guys are going through.  :lol: 

I'm getting about 360kH/s and I've just been striking out for most of today. Not a single coin. I have a total of three, yet when I see people with other processors jumping into the mix, they're getting coins almost every few minutes. Then they inform everyone that's because they're running a 5960X with its 8 cores and 16 processing threads. I can't even imagine the kind of mining that could be done with the high end Xeons.

The amount of hubris I had going into this with the 4790k was too real...  :lol:  :lol:  :lol:

 

I've gotten nothing yet, but I've only run it for a few hours at a time (I turn it off when I'm working on stuff for school). I guess my processor got around 60*C at the hottest, which is the warmest it has ever been.

EDIT: Also, my processor has always been cooler than my buddy's 4790K clocked at 4.0GHz, both of us are using pretty much the same setup, only difference being the platform (AMD vs Intel) and the video card (HD 6950 vs GTX 780Ti). His GPU stays cooler, my CPU stays cooler.

I let mine run for hours.. then my CPU over heats and blue screens my computer. Has happened 3 times now. Yolo right!

I let mine run for hours.. then my CPU over heats and blue screens my computer. Has happened 3 times now. Yolo right!

I just downloaded the wallet and it appears you can specify the %max hashrate. Try turning it down a bit?

 

I think I'm going to max mine out when I'm afk, then set it to 50-75% when in use, that way I can still utilize the most of my hardware, and maybe make a nickel.

You will actually make more than that due to some weird thing they have were the minimum value is $1 and something about bitcoin value conversion is good or something like. Everything is still a little foggy. I would just keep mining until you figure out why you are mining, because in the first week they are giving away 300 million coins to miners.

You will actually make more than that due to some weird thing they have were the minimum value is $1 and something about bitcoin value conversion is good or something like. Everything is still a little foggy. I would just keep mining until you figure out why you are mining, because in the first week they are giving away 300 million coins to miners.

I was wondering, If you are going to do GPU mining, is there a point in getting a highend CPU? Will the CPU bottleneck the GPUs?

 

I am going to take every computer in my house and get it CPU mining and see what I can get before CPU mining is turned off :D 

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?

They want to make their own store where each ZiftrCoin is worth $1 minimum. I'm currently using the ZiftrWallet Mobile Beta, a fairly nice system, though I was confused by a few things. 

When it comes to ZiftrCoin mining, I just happened to be checking my email when they sent out the notice that the desktop client was running. I was CPU mining with my i5 4670K @4Ghz with about 350 kH/s. I continued to let my PC mine for the remainder of the day, and through the night. I ended up with about 25 ZiftrCoins. Each mining find nets about 3.7 coins, and each coin takes about two and a half hours to be verified at the moment. I'm rather excited for the potential of this coin, personally. I plan to mine more after I've got a better cooler (possibly something that will be helped by the use of ZiftrCoin in the future?) and really think this coin could become the next mainstream coin.

If you want to get even more coins, go to the console drop down menu in the client, and open debug window. Type in 'setusepok true' (without the apostrophes) and hit enter. You'll start getting 3.9 each time.

I have some faith in this coin, though I'm starting to get bummed at how much it's dropping in value in terms of USD. It's holding pretty well when you trade it for bitcoin though. Also, if I'm reading the mining curve they posted in their subreddit correctly, we're supposed to be getting more and more coins being rewarded, with it peaking after about 25 years. Take it with a truckload of salt as this graph is made by ziftr themselves, and cryptocurrency is pretty volatile in general.

This coin looks pretty promising and the CEO seems like a pretty honest, passionate person, so I'm gonna back this coin as best as I can.

Yeah those charts look a little too clean and gentle. Also I like how they are planning for everything to go to cryptocurrency but telling the future for 15 years ahead technology wise is very difficult.

I'm getting about 360kH/s and I've just been striking out for most of today. Not a single coin. I have a total of three, yet when I see people with other processors jumping into the mix, they're getting coins almost every few minutes. Then they inform everyone that's because they're running a 5960X with its 8 cores and 16 processing threads. I can't even imagine the kind of mining that could be done with the high end Xeons.

I'm using an i7 5960x @4.2GHz and have mined 30 blocks since launch. At first i got a block every 30 minutes but now it takes me 2-5h as well. I have a hashrate of ~750kH/s. Someone wirth a 16 core xeon gets ~900kH/s - 1MH/s.

Btw a dev said that with the next update or so they try to implement a pool function. :3

Oh hey! Yeah, your video was the one I saw that taught me about getting that extra 5% for the mines. I'd love to do a pool as well because some coins is better than no coins.  :lol:

Haha there are better ones out there, mine is a bad overclocker ^^ i'll try to make a video ones the pool function is implemented but someone else would need to run it for the community because my connections is rather bad :/

Managed to bluescreen twice trying to push 90% on my i7 3820 3 - was just pushing 240kH/s. - Leaving it on 50% while I do simple tasks or idle, but no blocks yet after 12 hours.

 

This is actually my first time attempting any mining, Wondering if there's any value in getting an ASIC miner for these. I have access to all included power with one of my rent locations, but only have about 500-700watts to spare for a 24/7 operation.

Well even if there would be value in an ASIC, you wouldn't be able to use one because ZiftrCoin is CPU /GPU only.

Btw i only start lagging when i use 100% therefore i unly use 95%. That way i can surf and or do easy tasks while mining at max performance :)
