If its a salesperson trying to sell it to my friend, I would tell him straight(not in front of the salesperson) to save his money and go DIY and explain that they are using low quality cheap parts.

If its salesperson try to sell me I would kindly say "I'm just browsing".

Most of the people would regard it and boycott after the bad experience, but some would be in denial and still believe Alienware is teh best.

True, alienware does sponsor MMO and MOBA teams, so it is not surprising

My reaction is constantly telling myself to shut up and not say anything, because if I recommend building a computer, I would be the one that would have to help the person with it. Same thing applies to any prebuilt PC.

I was trying to explain to one of my mates that PC gaming is superior to an Xbox One.

He then said "If you like PC gaming have you got an Alienware"

I then face palmed and spent almost an hour explaining it to him.

Tragically, he still thinks Xbox's are amazing and Alienware are the best PCs. It's not good. :-(

I see it as an opportunity to educate others about computer hardware, and how easy building a PC really is.

by saying "wut?", then going full social nazi on them, screaming and ranting, blaming the downfall of society and the economy on people like them, shaming them until they feel 2 inches tall and return it.

Then helping them to build a much better pc for half the cost, once they get their money back.

I'm usually surprised because if one is prone to buying an Alienware, one should be even more prone to buying Apple. I tell them it's a step in the right direction, that usually intrigues them enough into genuine alternative considerations.

This is LTT. One cannot force "style over substance" values & agenda on people that actually aren't afraid to pop the lid off their electronic devices, which happens to be the most common denominator of this community. Rather than take shots at this community in every post, why not seek out like-minded individuals elsewhere?

one day i went to electronic mall. there was an alienware store. so, i came in.

oh, ok, before i continue this, i just wanna explain that everything is damn expensive on my country. i had to pay $760 for my GTX 780.

lets continue, i asked a girl who's standing beside an alienware aurora.

i ask her "what the spec for this thing?"

she said "oohh... it has i7 2700k, 16 GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD, and two GTX 680 on it!" (fyi, i already had a 4770 and a 780 back there)

i said "oouuww.. pretty nice spec u have in there."

she said "yeaahh.... (with a happy face) it's awesome isn't it? this is a dream machine for every gamers!"

and.. i finally ask her "how much?"

and.. this was her answer "ouw..! it's only $4000 for this spec! what kind of spec do u want?"

and i left her . . .

fyi, that girl was quite nice looking. that's why i ask her. not because of that aurora.

hahahahaha...

I kinda inwardly facepalm.

And then try to convince them that they are overpriced for what you get.

i agree with this , its also their own money. i waste mine all the time on shiny i don't always need so i am no better

It is, the desktops use Dell PSUs and motherboards, and the laptops use dell motherboards, displays, and PSUs.
