They are usually $140, but the shop are selling them at a discount because the HyperX Cloud II Headset are coming out. Am I missing out on a lot if I get this, and not the II's (or is it worth paying double for the II's)? :lol:

i don't even have them but, i know they are good, the mic isn't the best. i think you will be happy

The new ones are not worth double the price. Get the original.

My personal rig - 4790k 4.8Ghz, Asus Z97 Pro (wi-fi ac), Corsair Dominator Plat 4x8GB, SLI GTX 1080 TI FE, Samsung 850 Evo 1TB, Crucial MX100 512GB, EVGA G3 1000W, and cooled by a hardline liquid cooling loop.

Would I need a DAC to properly drive these, or the onboard sound of the Z97-A enough for the most part?

Get them. The only difference really is the 7.1 dongle thing which is prob not worth $20 and the 7.1 will help barely to not at all.
