Do lower fan speed make them last longer?

So I'm running a server and I try to keep my fan as low as possible while keeping my GPU and CPU at around 50 degrees celcius as I want to make them last the longest. Will it make any difference or should I focus more on better temps?

Focus more on better temps. Reducing the fan speed won't increase the life by much.

It could a little bit, buy you might as well bump their speeds up and keep things cooler.

Focus on better temps, fans are easier (and cheaper) to replace than GPUs and CPUs.

 

Focus more on better temps. Reducing the fan speed won't increase the life by much.

 

Fans are cheap, CPU's aren't. Keep your system cool, and don't worry about the fans.

 

It could a little bit, buy you might as well bump their speeds up and keep things cooler.

depending on gpu 50*c is damn cool!

i wouldnt worry about 50*c at the expense of noise though, if it is at 80% fan speed at 50*c is 60*c at 50% fan speed really that bad?

I sued to have my 290 at 55% fan speed to keep it around 70*c and at the point there was the typical graphics card woosh you get from gaming.

but becasue the heat output is relatively constant and noise increases drastically with fan speed i top out around 75*c now at only 40% which is inaudible over my rear case fan.

experiment with what your comfortable with.

Yeah. Fan is on 35%. And 3/4 of time is 34 degrees but somtimes I guess my house gets hot and hits around 40 and 50 but for like only an hour or 2.

I like to keep it on 35% :) I guess I can up it at 45%...
