Anyone here know much about telescopes?

pipnina

I live in the northern hemisphere (England (The old one)) and have wanted to see the night sky in more vivid detail than my great grandads binoculars or my e-410 w/150mm lens will allow for some time. (Neither can get the moon to fit snugly in their sights, let alone planets, nebulae or galaxies (Well, maybe the binoculars would see andromeda, but not that well)

So, I figured with my christmas money, I'd get a telescope. Problem is, I know NOTHING about telescopes. diddly squat in fact.

Well, I know the difference between a reflector and a newtonian design, but that's it.

Only real requisite is it has to be able to attach to a camera and preferably cost less than £200GBP

Thanks for the help!

I know that there are telescopes with mirrors. And that some of them are concave, maybe convex. That's where my knowledge ends.

Same here.

I think telescopes might be just one small notch away from this forum. I may have to find my info elsewhere unless someone with knowledge replies.

the only thing i know, is that when you want to see stuff like nebula's, other galaxy's, planets etc you will be needing something with a IR sensor, since they emit alot of infra red radiation and that allows them to become visible for the most part, further on wouldn't know what else would be good, never looked much into the telescope section of astrophotography/star gazing

@pipnina

May the light have your back and your ISO low.
