Planning on new build

Habsfreak31

Here's the list of parts I'm planning on getting.

-Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

-MSI Z77A-GD65 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard

-Patriot Intel Extreme Master, Limited Ed 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

-Corsair Force Series GT 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk

-EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB Video Card

-NZXT Phantom (White) ATX Full Tower Case

-Corsair Professional Gold 750W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply

-Cooler Master X6 Elite 70.0 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

This PC is being built for gaming. Just a few questions. Are there better motherboards to choose from? Is the CPU cooler good or should I go for liquid cooling? I"m hoping for this PC to last a while so should I go for an i7-3770k and a GTX 680 instead of the i5-3570k and GTX 670? Any suggestions/tips would be great.

For the most part it looks good, the 3570K and the GTX 670 are great choices and you shouldn't need anything more high end, I would go for a more recent SSD, like a Samsung 840, cooling is completely up to you just choose what suits your needs, same with the case and motherboard.

The whole thing looks good :) the only thing I'd change is the psu and to a silverstone strider plus 600w, sill fully modular and cost a lot less than the corsair one you chose, it's up to you though

export PS1='\[\033[1;30m\]┌╼ \[\033[1;32m\]\u@\h\[\033[1;30m\] ╾╼ \[\033[0;34m\]\w\[\033[0;36m\]\n\[\033[1;30m\]└╼ \[\033[1;37m\]'

They come in bronze, silver and gold editions. Can't remember the model numbers though

Looks good. You could drop the CPU cooler to the CM 212Evo or Plus and not see any major difference in performance. You wont get a huge overclock out of it but maybe 4.2? 4.2? Other than that, well done :)

If you wanna swap it out for something in the same price range then i suggest taking a look at the NZXT Havik 140, it absolutely obliterates everything at its price scoring only 1-2 degrees above the NH-D14 :)

here is a good in depth review on it
