hi i need some help i sent my gigabyte g1 gaming 970's back due too vram issue now im thinking on getting gtx 980 im thinking classified model is that best i should go for or should i go amd?

980 is  a beast, or sli 970s or 290s would be killer, if you dont mind going sli.

inb4 you get hated on for sending back your 970

290(x)'s are a much better value than the 980, but the 980 is the best single GPU gaming card on the market, so if you really want the best, that's what you gotta get.

Any 980 will do but as already said dual 290x is really good option atm.

As someone else pointed out you can get two MSI lightning 290xs for the price of one gtx 980, and they will annihilate any 980 in benchmarks and nearly equal 2 980s in SLI.

 

The downside is I'm guessing you'd need a 1000W or better PSU for 2 lightning 290xs, and a case that has really good ventilation. If I had it to do over again id probably get a lightning 290x at that price. I returned my 970 because it was still within the date for returns and exchanges and put it towards an EVGA SC 980.

 

This might sound stupid, but if Nvidia is letting you return your 970 for a full refund, id feel a little obligated to buy another Nvidia card since they didn't really have to refund your 970.

probably go for evga classified as slightly higher overclock but i like the look of the kfa2 hall of fame card longer warranty with evga as well

I'd go with an EVGA card allthough the calssified charges a hefty premium price tag. I have read that the KFA is a little bit on the loud side.

Unless you want the white PCB I'd go with the EVGA super super clocked.

Because MSi 290x and 290 are usually cheap in europe.

Depends on the card , msi 290x is 75 degrees load.
