Wow that twin frozr 290x is a steal at 279. That's just about the lowest Ive seen a 290x with a decent aftermarket cooler. The windforce has dipped that low but I think the Twin Frozr is the better cooler.

Look at Guru3ds review of that card, it beats the 780ti at 1440p in BF4.

but ill go for evga classified then get another for future proofing.

The EVGA GTX980 Classified is no doubt an extra ordinary card. But think about it you pay premium for an extreme OCing card. That card is made for extreme OCing with LN2 computers. If you buy the EVGA GTX980 SSC you'll get basically the same performance but a lot cheaper.

The classified is not more or less future proof than any other GTX980, because the chip might be binned but it is still the same GM204 chip with the same amount of GDDR5 RAM and the same 256BIT MI.

If you want to SLI then reference design is the better choice because otherwise you will blow hot air from card 1 on the back of card2 and that can cause thermal issues.

I love my 980

Awesome performance, great features and much more power efficient (165w vs 290w). Plus you get to join Team Green.....which is cool :D

i sent my gigabyte g1 gaming 970's back due too vram issue

What retailer did you buy from that let you return your cards? NewEgg by chance?

This might sound stupid, but if Nvidia is letting you return your 970 for a full refund, id feel a little obligated to buy another Nvidia card since they didn't really have to refund your 970.

Problem is people don't buy from Nvidia directly, and Nvidia has no actual say in whether or not the retailer you purchased from will refund you.

NewEgg refuses to take mine back for a refund.

In Australia what they did is illegal and anyone can return the card regardless of the store.

Nice!  You can't go wrong with the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 FTW ACX 2.0.  If the 980 Ti or something of that variant ever comes out within 90 days of your purchase, you can sign up for the Step Up program and pay the difference plus shipping not to mention their really good Warranty/RMA/Tech Support.

I have a potato!
