I use Firefox, it never does something weird and has cool addons for now. I personnaly think Chrome is bad. Maybe it improved but I had problems with Chrome and some websites before.

Do you find it crashing and lagging up with multiple windows open and addons messing with it ?

Everything lags for me (see my profile for my system) so your question is invalid. However, it has not crashed.

I used to use only Firefox. Then when youtube had issues a year or two ago I switched to Chrome because Chrome defualted youtube to HTML5 avoiding the Firefox issues which were Flash related. I just havnt changed back.

Opera. But ever since new shitty Opera (based on Chrome) and the abandonment of good Opera (12) I have had to use Sleipnir for certain things, and I guess one day I will be using Sleipnir full time unless Opera gets their shit together.

Ever try editing a Wiki with Opera? Don't.

Firefox with a nice batch of ad-ons

Opera with a small batch of ad-ons

Chrome with a bunch of hacks to prevent it from tracking me or contacting the mothership.

wget to quickly and directly download things without the typical download waits and attempted bloatware add-ons.

IE if there's nothing else.

I like the personalization and all the add-ons for Firefox and the way it looks. I prefer it it over chrome because chrome just devours ram like a fat kid running through a candy shop.

Try resetting Firefox : Ref: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems

If that doesn't do it save your valuable data and recreate your profile : Ref : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

He should just try installing chrome (depending on spec and performance). Re installation is also good.

(chrome for 2 days, not switching)

If he wants to be tracked and have his data on every Google server, yea go Chrome, otherwise use those links and stay on off the Google grid, if at least increase the bar for them.
