Need help identifying a connector

I'm looking to replace a fan for a DAS encluser, only the connector is one I can't identify, I'm hoping someone here can help in identifying it

Looks like a JST style connector of some kind. Maybe an XH?

If you're replacing the fan entirely, you might be better off figuring out the pinout, then cutting the wire off the old fan and splicing it onto the new one. (If you can't get a new fan from the appliance manufacturer, anyway.)

I was hoping that there was an adaptor I can find, as I want to replace the current fan with a more silent version (Noctua)

and I'd like to avoid splicing the cables.

It's unlikely you'll find one off the shelf, but you can always make one out of the original fan connector and a standard 4-pin fan header extension. You just have to figure out which pin is which on the motherboard side.

I think this Phobya adapter will work, although I loath recommending my employer to buy from, or Ali Express, which has one, too. I found these by searching with "JST XH plug to 4-pin PWM socket adapter" and then looked at the photos because I got lots of false matches.

The second is a link to the adapter, not to AE's home page. unfortunately as already said, it's similar, but the prodruding part is not wide enough

I found similar on ebay, but same issue
