Explain Star Citizen?

Go to solution Solved by rentaspoon,

Star Citizen is basicly a second life in space with space sim and fps aspects, easiest way of explaining, you can mine, explore the galaxy, be a merchant, mercenary, pirate, police, military, bounty hunter.

On top of that you get a single player game called squadron 42, which is military based storyline.

Right now all SC contains is the hanger mode (your home right now) and space dogfighting with online multiplayer with swarm mode, racing and dogfighting.

It is something that is not out yet and what is out from it can't be considered a game. Watch this end up being the biggest scam ever in pc gaming.

We get it. You don't like it.

OK so basically, I know what star citizen is and of course it looks amazing. But does somebody want to give me like a full paragraph explaining it like modules and what kind of things that it will provide.

Basically pretend you are trying to sell a big CEO the game..

Thanks

There's just so much to it that it confuses me :P

One second you're walking around a city the next you're having a dog fight in space etc

Now all these "modules" that just confuse me.

modules are just small test environments that won't exist in the actual game. it should be seamless experience.

It is something that is not out yet and what is out from it can't be considered a game.

What would you consider it? A simulator?

Or a tech demo?

This is a stupid comment you made rentaspoon. I played two space simulators that were action based in the last 3 months or so and enjoyed them.  The thing was they were games that are actually out.  Star Citizen is not.  The games I played also did not have the cost that Star Citizen has either.  It is not that I don't like Star Citizen.  It is that it isn't even a game yet so selling someone on it would be stupid.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

Its not stupid, all your comments recently about SC are negative.

So you've played SC then?

This is a good overview IMO, there are a lot of top X reasons to be excited for SC videos on YouTube that are good to get the general gist of what it will be but to really understand all the detail you really need to spend a fair bit of time looking around just because there is so much to it.

This gives a brief overview of the economy system, it'll give you an idea of what I mean by there is a lot to it.

Both videos are oldish too so there's a lot more info out there now... hell every week there's more info getting out ;)

Amazing how you're the lazy one and somehow label me a "dick" for pointing it out. I am saying that this is what killed WoW, and it will kill Star Citizen before it even started because it has succesfully murdered every MMO to date. Whining, overentitled, lazy shitbaskets who want everything handed to them or explained in a convenient paragraph so they don't have to put in any sort of effort. And frustratingly get their way eventually. If this is the community of SC I might not even bother, eventhough I already pledged.

Forums there lately haven't been exactly awe inspiring, might even start pressuring them into giving me a partial refund.

I am not lazy, I just prefer higher quality answers.

If the community is going to be full of stuck up people like you, I might not bother with it.

There marketing isn't the best however the community is.

A for the dick comment, I'm not calling you one but I kinda get where he's coming from.

For me, this was the one guaranteed place that until recently has been untouched by the disrespect for other members that seems to be talking over the forum.

Dude, loads of people already know what Star Citizen is. As in the name and that it's a space sim.

If they had proper marketing, this thing would be blown up sky high.

I played it for a few months its very neat but I got quite annoyed when a person I was meant to pick up on a quest died..and apparently thats just it...you lose that quest..sucks to be you.

As I said it was also absurdly complex if that what it want to be cool but I felt it was to much for its own good.
