It really depends for me. I like both equally I guess, just depends on the type of game. Games with large amounts of driving TPS because they're easier to play with a controller I find. Otherwise FPS.

FPS only if the FoV is scalable to 100+ and there is self awareness. (Can see body and stuff).

I love the M&B games but play them in 3rd person as the FoV is way too low for me D:

Gamepad console peasents he he he !

I game on PC. What I meant to say is that I can't drive without a controller, so it's easier to aim and stuff with a controller if the game is in the third person. Otherwise if it's in first person with very little driving I use KB+M.

I played GTA IV on PC with the gamepad for driving and KB/M for anytime outside of the vehical.

That sounds like a lot of work.

First person shooter and third person shooter? Always FPS. I don't see the point of having third person in shooting games, just seems like a disadvantage. However, I really like how third person GAMES turn out.

Shooters = FPS

Other = TPS/TPG

CPU: I7 4790K(4.6@1.252v)                               Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Windowed(Black)           Cooler: CM 212 EVO + NF F12 iPPC

RAM: HyperX Fury 1600MHZ CL10 2x4GB      Storage: Samsung 850 EVO(250GB) + WD Red(2TB)      PSU: Corsair RM750 (and no, it hasn't blown up!)

MoBo: Asus Maximus VII Ranger                      Graphics: MSI GTX 970 TwinFrozr (1494MHZ Core)       OS: Windows 10 Enterprise

A third person view allows the player to get a much better sight of the situation. If the game is more focused on tactical gunplay, then the oversight you wouldn't normally get from a FPS can really improve the gameplay.

I'm telling the truth! I AM a 12 year old girl!

I prefer to be able to see my character model, it takes me out of games to just be two floating hands in space killing everything. Especially in horror and stealth games.

True dat!

But having tried some third person shooters like Tom Clancys Splinter Cell Blacklist felt quite laggy and was damn hard to aim, kind of destroyed my experience. You can see more in TPS for sure, but for "hardcore" aiming situations (for me at least) it is really bad. The FOV/motion blur usually messes it up, pair that with unfortunate lag.
