Today I noticed this in a math booklet I had for homework

"A fractal is a geometric figure that is generated by starting with a very simple pattern and repeating that pattern over and over again. The basic concept of a fractal is that it contains a large degree of self-similarity."

Of course I thought to Fractal Design, and after pondering over it for a bit I realized

Define R2:

Define R3:

Define R4:

Define R5:

Wow, you learn something new every day.

Overhyped with flimsy construction. My R4 flexed more than a Gateway PC I had ages before.

well no shit its alluminum and ''ages ago'' i would assume would mean that it was long enough ago that the standard was steel. xD

Was actually steel with a tacky glossy exterior made of cheap plastic. :P The R4 chassis on its own without panels or anything mounted has way too much flex to be considered a premium product. An old cube Lian Li I've also had before that was around 20 dollars more expensive was also a lot more rigid in its construction.

The define R4 is made of anything BUT aluminium. Solid steel, man, that sucker is HEAVY.

only the top panel flexed. Nothing about that case suggests flimsiness in any sense other than the flex in the top. They've fixed that in the R5.

It's not overhyped. It's just an extremely popular case for many many different reasons. Overhyped implies that it's popular for questionable reasons, if any. The R4 is an excellent case for the average builder. Decent airflow, silent performance, thicker steel than I would ever use on a case, and as many drive sleds as you could want. And you can't deny that it looks really nice.

Still prefer my phanteks enthoo luxe.

This case design isn't the best, over priced and doesn't even look that good

in my opinion. I like be quite's case a lot more.

Well you're paying for the sound dampening material, and a lot of people like the overall design of it (Myself included) my only wish would be is that a titanium front and white body be an option I mean sure on the R5 I could just take the door from the titanium unit, paint or plastidip the black parts white or leave them black and then throw it on a white R5 but it would be nice if Fractal had more options and maybe added accenting color options like maybe on the black units you could opt. for white accenting or on the white unit(s) you could opt. for black accenting of course this can be achieved through modding but why not put the option there by default.

Hence the snowflake :P

I suppose even though every snow flake is different from one another they still have a crystal structure. Well I guess I've identified why I've been noticing myself making my build very winter-like in terms of naming and certain choices like I had intended on originally doing a Corsair H100i for my CPU but when I saw the Silverstone TD02 and TD03 I was all like "perfect!"

Repeating the pattern within the same snowflake is what I mean.
