Spovan Smart Pedometer Sport Watch Review

After spending five days a week 10 hours a day just sitting in front of the computer screen I decided to exercise half an hour per day, yeah this is one of my new year's resolutions other than dating more girls.
In order to keep up with the goal I bought a sport watch from amazon. The brand is spovan. Spovan has a series of different functional sport watches including pedometer, fishing, climbing, heart rate monitor etc. Mine is SPV901, pedometer one. It's a very simple one. I have intentions to buy a complex one like could go dive, have barometer or altimeter function but when thinking it's still winter now I'd better not be crazy.

Before buying the sport watch I did some research about the watch history (now you know why I spent so much time a day online) knowing that the modern wristwatch has come a long way from its initial status in society. Before only women wore wristwatches, men used pocket watches. At that time most men even said“would sooner wear a skirt as wear a wristwatch.” If those men could only see the popularity of men’s sports watches today, they would be blown away.

Anyways enough words about that. Let's get down to the sport watch. In this review I'm gonna cover the appearance, main features, cons and pros of the watch.

Apearance  8.5/10:
This case really gives impression, black, square and delicate but I'm not gonna say more about it since we only use the watch.

The package contains watch itself, a Chinese/English user manual.

Here comes the watch, the first glance really is sharp. It has an impressive, professional appearance in contrast to a wide variety of other cheap and normal digital sport watches. The face is 37 millimeters in diameter, the proper size for me at least. The strap width is 18 millimeters, and the complete watch weighs only 7.3 ounces, meaning it is hardly noticeable on your wrist.

I like the face design because when you drop it right in the watch face it will not breack easily because this will buffer the collision

Features 9.0/10:
a)Time and date function
b)2 group alarm function
c)Stop watch
d)Counting down
e)Pedometer
step-counting/time display
step-counting/sport time display
Calorie/distance display
customisable user infor setting
50 days pedometer info record
f)backlight: EL backlight

First let’s mark the buttons:

Time and date, alarm function
Guess every watch has such functions? So not gonna say more about it

Stop watch
It has split function but seems can only split two
Press D button until you get to this STW (stop watch) interface

Press C button to start the stopwatch
SkBpjHY.jpg
Press A button to start the SPL function during stopwatch running, the icon “” icon blinks, the stopwatch is continuing running

the icon “” icon blinks

press A back to the stopwatch and you will get the total time. While you stop the counting, press A to clear data

Counting down function is pretty nice, it even rings when the setting time is over. This helps while you cook something at the same time you are gaming.

OK here comes the most important function: pedometer function

Before I got a smart bracelet, it really annoys me because whenever you make slight move or shake it will record as steps! And it’s not accurate at all! But I gotta say this spovan sport watch is awesome! It only records the real steps(not sure how did it but true)! And it’s totally accurate! It also has mode protection mode, in time mode or pedometer mode, long press D the mode will be locked to prevent go into other modes which is lovely!

It has three modes: Step-counting/time display
Step-counting/sport time display
Calorie/distance display
QLoLZvx.jpg
ZcEDSjP.jpg
k8XGyAy.jpg

In the previous two modes it shows the steps counting, the maximum is 999,999 steps, wow, this is a lot! I have a plan to record my whole days steps and share here (recording..photo coming soon)
While in step-counting/time display & step-counting/sport time display mode, long press B button you can even customize your information (like weight, pace length, G-sensor), you can change to metric system or British system:

It also has automatic memory recording mode, you can see the memo in the screen:

Overall impression:

Very satisfied with this gear. The design is a bit old fashioned but is not rough-made.
The features I know is somehow simple but at this time the functions are all what I need, and you know it's just 34$+freeshipping, what do you expect more?
I'm gonna test and report more as I use it more.

Thank you guys!

As this is my first review I really hope you geeks give me more suggestions, love ya!!

Nice watch, but red really is not for me.

I used to have a Spovan for fishing which displays weather and air pressure, have to admit it's a good brand in sport watches.

And 10 hours per day in front of the computer screen is horrible!

Hope you will not be spending 10 and a half hours sitting there (with your watch on).

...kidding! :P :P  Good for you!

hi, I have a simple question. I bought this watch (on amazon) and it was without instructions :(. I have found your tips quite useful but I have another issue. How is it possible to reset the pedometer once it starts to count the steps, the time and calories? and why the watch does not record these values automatically as you say in your review? they remain zero in the mode view. Thanks a lot, any suggestion would be great!!!!!!

Hi there

not sure if you'll still be checking this so long after your initial post but was wondering f you could let me know how you set up the pedometer itself?  I can see the steps but can't get it to register me walking!

Any my help would be much appreciated as we have lost the instructions that came with it!

many thanks

Natasha
