Yeah, a 7990 (= 2xr9 280x) is only 320$ refurbished. Performs better than gtx 970 (if xfire supported)

Uses alot of power, but yeah.

I don't know if I can recommend it. I bought a refurb 7990 from newegg for christmas, and it had problems. It had SUPER low ratings as well

 

 

 

I would DEFINITELY avoid it

Terrible coil whine, and a bunch of other reviewers got defective cards aka they ran super slow. 

 

everyone was reporting these cards were used to bitcoin mine, it's a baddd idea

How is it any different from 7970 crossfire? Never heard of them having terrible stutter.

They also had crazy coil whine and were very loud and hot.
