Hi guys,

I just wanted to know where Linus got his images for use in his YouTube videos. I was hoping to put a couple images into my YouTube videos and don't know how to do it without copyright infringement.

Yeah, it's Shutterstock. I believe they were a sponsor on one TechQuickie too.

You can get them copyright free if you get a subscription.

There are different type of subscription.

Take a look around, maybe there's a package just for you. Maybe some YouTuber still has a code that gives you a bit of a discount.

Haha thank all of you so much for the replies. @Minibois I followed this topic and thanks again for all of your support. I'll be sure to check out Shutterstock. Also, if I were to use an image from google, provided it's labeled for reuse, how would I go about including it without copyright infringement.

Its bit of grey area, much like with using game footage or another video. If you mention source as credit of image and don't get money of using it, nobody really cares. You can also always ask permission of pics. Thats common practice in academic world where you might need something for research papers.

He uses Shutterstock. I'm sure he had or still has an affiliate link for them. It's one of those websites where you pay for images to use in a project, media companies often use them because they look more professional.

"Have you tried turning it off and on again?"
