  1. The only other case that I can think of in that price point and of that size is the Phanteks Enthoo Pro M. If your CPU cooler clears it with only 5mm to spare, then you should be fine right? You can say that Corsair's cases are plastic and somewhat flimsy, but you've basically got that option and the S340 in terms of clean design and cheap price point. You might want to consider also swapping out your air cooler instead if you're dead set on this type of case. I don't see anything wrong with Corsair's case in particular. At that price point nothing is going to give you the good sturdy build quality you might be looking for in a case. You might also want to look at the H440, which isn't quite the same, but gives a little bit more room. Hope this helps a bit
  2. Having a 1440p Monitor now, I can definitely say that it's the way to go. Even though I'm only hitting 60fps instead of 100Hz on a 1080 panel, I find that the resolution with the IPS panel that I have to be perfect for gaming. Honestly, I'm not planning to go into the competitive field, and find that the beauty of games such as Battlefield 4, Witcher 3, and Far Cry 4 are just too good to pass up. But if you're into more competitive play and want to get the maximum you can out of your monitor, sticking with a higher refresh rate is always better, but most people don't play at a level where that really matters. We all want to enjoy the game we're playing, so why not make it look better with a better resolution eh? Hope this helps
  3. Put some of the programs on to an external HD if you have them - or simply re-download them onto your hard drive when you migrate, most stuff is cloud these days, just make sure you have your product key
  4. EDIT: An oldie but a goodie ft. Linus http://www.todo-backup.com/products/home/download.htm EaseUS todo is another software that i've heard works well
  5. Hey LTT Forum, So in the past couple of days, my computer decided to hang at the POST screen (image below). The only way I have found past this is to unplug all other hard drives except my boot drives, and plug them back in after it's booted up. The system will continually boot after this point until a couple days later where it will hang again, causing me to open up my computer and unplug the drives. Not particularly the best. I've tried flashing the BIOS to a newer version, which didn't help. I have an ROG Maximus Vii Hero w/ an i7-4790K and a GTX 970. There are a total of five drives attached to the system (two for mass storage, two for backup, and a Windows boot drive). Hopefully you guys can help out! -Dmanschramm
  6. @Nilkin I'd say that you have everything. Your mobo will come with a SATA cable so I wouldn't buy it unless you want that locking latch. I also would recommend an SSD for booting, which will make it much snappier.
  7. You could either hook up your monitor and peripherals to your laptop, or perhaps keep it as something for Word Processing and Web Browsing with a larger screen and better peripherals.
  8. An SSD would be great for booting, but other than that the build looks sick. As for mobo, Gigabyte is a great company along with MSI and Asus. It's a matter of preference. I like Asus, but some swear by Gigabyte. If you like the look of the board and its feature, then go for it! Hope this helps
  9. The case can fit 240mm radiators. The size of the motherboard doesn't change the fact that there isn't enough space in the case to mount the 280mm radiator. But a 240mm radiator is great nevertheless! Hope this helps!
  10. haha might not go with the chimney but will take airflow optimized fans over static pressure definitely
  11. I was planning to have my intake 200mm fan at the front running slowly to keep air flowing. The resulting hot air was to rise up and through the radiator, but I'm not sure if this is enough to cool it...
