Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 or ATI Radeon HD 7970

peewee
Go to solution Solved by ZeroPlasm,

I would choose 7970 because...

- 3GB VRAM

- Better overclocking

- GCN architecture, mantle support.

Although if you want NVIDIA features like Gamestream and PhysX, the 770.

7970 vs 770 .. they prety much trade blows but I would say 770 will perform slightly better in most games. Though 7970 has 3GB of VRAM which may help you in newer games.

They are equal power wise though the extra gig of VRAM on the 7970 will help in games like Dragon Age Inquisition. Even at 1080p that game use 2.7GB of VRAM on my system.

Personally I would get the hd 7970 as it has that 3 gb vram which will help a lot in newer games. They are pretty similair in performance but personally I would try and find either an r9 290 or a gtx 970. Don't cost that much more but both have much better performance.

You should go for something like a 280x it has a higher clock speed and should be about the same price. If you do have enough money the gtx 970 would be the best bang for the buck.

Performance wise the 770 is better but the 7970 has more vram so if you play at higher resolution the 7970 will beat out the 770 .But if you if you can get a 290/290x or 970 that will be ideal
