Advice for $3,000 Budget build

Brama

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Brama/saved/BDn9TW

Put this build together back in September, Expected some prices to drop right now. and I was unable to take advantage of Black Friday/Cyber Monday.

Curious of any advice or changes anyone may make to make the build better and get more for the money or make $300 worth of room to fit a Astro A50 Headset.

Note: this build is from scratch, No peripheals of any sort

This is build will be used for Harcore gaming, Streaming, and You tube gaming videos.

If u make any changes, including a description of why would be apperciated.

1000W is not needed, get something like 850W. a EVGA G2 850W may be.

NZXT Kraken X61 AIO.

Swap Seagate HDD with WD Black.

Ever other things lookss gooddd!

Intel Core i3 2100 @ 3.10GHz - Intel Stock Cooler - Zotac Geforce GT 610 2GB Synergy Edition

Intel DH61WW - Corsair® Value Select 4GBx1 DDR3 1600 MHz - Antec BP-300P PSU

WD Green 1TB - Seagate 2.5" HDD 1TB - Seagate Barracuda 500GB - Antec X1 E.

The build looks good. But honestly if your budget is that high how long would it take you to add 300 more?

Keep the build like this other than the psu.

You don't need 1000w. PC part picker calculated 550ish watts.

You'd be fine with a gold or platinum rated 750w or better.

Core i7-2600k @ 4.65Ghz - Asus Maximus IV Gene Z - 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance LP Cerilian Blue - Samsung EVO 840 250GB - Seagate Barracuda 7200 1TB - 2x EVGA Geforce GTX 760 SC - Corsair AX850, custom sleaved and length - Silverstone Sugo heavily modified - Full loop with EK blocks and 360 rad, frozenq res.

Seems like a very solid build to me so it would be next to impossible to get the same performance for $300 less. Like Kameshss said, the 1000W PSU is a bit overkill. Seagate Barracudas are reliable, not sure as to why kameshss is suggesting the WD black. I personally would get another 2TB of storage if I was doing video editing.

He has only 250GB SSD, so he may or maynot have install all games in his SSD. that is why I suggested WD Black. Seagate is reliable I know. But imo WDs are more reliable than Seagate. :)

I shaved about $200 off. Did some minor changes like switching the cooler, grabbing a better PSU, switching over to a similar ssd, and removed the AF fans since I don't really see the need in that huge case. It looks like it'll have good air flow already without grabbing more fans.

Thank you, Like the build. and I think u are right about the AF Fans, I went a little overkill because of my concerns of the 4790k heating up. But the included fans along with the LC should be enough.

I plan to get a Blue Yeti Mic later, But I like the Astros cause I have had Astros in the past, I really like there quality, great customer service, very comfortable, great sound. and the A50s are wireless. I really like that. So yeah, It's more a luxury, loyal/satisfied return customer buy

Also would do people think of going with

CRYORIG R1 Universal

Point taken. Wireless headphones are awesome. I have a pair haha. No clue about the cooler, I haven't seen any benchmarks for that particular one yet but the r1 ultimate is pretty awesome and looks good. It's huge though.

Only thing I would change, since the budget is 3k, is go 5820k, appropriate motherboard and obviously DDR4 RAM. Alternatively a bigger SSD because why not.

That would be nice but it seems he's not doing super heavy content stuff so the 6 core doesn't seem like it's necessary. It may be a 3k budget but it's like 50/50 peripherals haha.

Plus the ddr4 will kill his budget fast.

I know, but I was just commenting that the budget allows for it, even with all of the peripherals.

Yea, I actually do have a i7-5820k build, been going back and fourth between them, 5820 just seems a little over kill, and the 4790k I think might better a little better, and game a little better. plus it has a more solid all around build.

Should I perhaps consider waiting until after New Years? maybe prices will drop on some items. I would hate to buy all the parts then couple weeks later prices drop
